RESIN GUIDE |
| Impact
Resin |
Impact
resin is an Isopthalic resin that has the best chemical resistance,
most versatile catalyst range, and highest degree of stiffness. Impact
resin gets its name for it's superior performance in high Impact areas.
Impact resin is commonly used in mold building applications. |
| White
Water Resin |
White
Water resin is similar to the Impact resin in impact resistance and
catalyst range. However, White Water resin has more flexibility and
slightly lower viscosity than Impact resin. White Water resin is commonly
used in kayaks, canoes, and boats. |

Isoflex
Resin
|
Isoflex
resin is a highly flexible, orthothalic resin. Isoflex resin can be
used by itself, or be blended with other resins to add flexibility.
Isoflex is used in applications such as Taxidermy. |
| Laminating
Resin |
Laminating
resin is commonly referred to as general purpose resin. As the term
implies, this is a fairly generic resin used for laminating fiberglass
fabrics. |
| Clear
Casting Resin |
Clear
Casting resin is a crystal clear resin used for casting jewelery,
small embedments, and thin table top coatings. However, Clear Casting
resin will not give a smooth as glass finish with out some sanding
and buffing. |
| Mass
Clear Casting Resin |
Mass
Clear Casting resin is identical to regular Clear Casting resin except
that it is formulated to cure more slowly to make larger castings
less likely to crack or fracture due to excessive cure exotherm. Large
castings may require a special catalyst. |

GEL COATS |
| |
Polyester
Gel coats are frequently used as the cosmetic surface of fiberglass
laminates. Gel Coats are available in a wide variety of colors, or
if you wish, you may create your own custom color scheme using PLASTICAREs
assortment of pigments. Gel coats may be applied by brush, roller
or sprayed. Some spray applications may require some additional additives
and thinners. We recommend that gel coat be sprayed in light coats
building up to 20-25 mils thick. |
